Le’Veon Bell Drama Continues

Today was not a good day for football fans in the steel city. After another off-season of missing OTA’s and team meetings, reports have been coming from all over that superstar RB Le’Veon Bell will miss the first 10 weeks of the season.

Bell and the Steelers seem to have contract disputes every year and it always sparks debates around the league. Should Le’Veon just accept what he’s getting and stop being selfish? Or does the league’s best RB deserve the big bucks?

It has been reported that Bell will miss the first 10 weeks to get to free agency with less wear on his body. He will cost himself over $8M to do this. It is extremely clear that Bell is done with the Steelers and ready to move on.

Earlier today, some of the Steelers Offensive Linemen spoke out on Bell’s situation. Maurkice Pouncey said “Why play hide-and-seek? Why let your agent say this? Just man up and tell us what you’re going to do.” Pouncey went on to also say, “Honestly, it’s a little selfish. I’m kinda pissed right now. It sucks that he’s not here. We’ll move on as a team.” Ramon Foster also attacked Bell saying, “What do you do? Here’s a guy who doesn’t give a damn, I guess so we’ll treat it as such. I just hate that it came to this.” Foster also said, “He’s making seven times what I make, twice as much as Al (Villanueva) is making, and we’re the guys who do it for him.”

So as you can see, his teammates, the ones that have spoken out on the topic at least, look like they aren’t supporting Le’Veon.

This certainly won’t go over well with his fantasy owners, considering Bell was a top 3 pick in most likely every league.

It will be interesting to see how the relationship between Bell and the Steelers goes throughout the season. Should definitely be interesting when the OL and Bell see each other. It’s extremely saddening for all football fans, no matter what team you’re a fan of, Bell is an extremely entertaining player to watch. As it’s looking right now, we will see him Week 10.
