Ken Rosenthal, of The Athletic and MLB Network, is reporting the Phillies are interested in acquiring veteran outfielder Curtis Granderson from the Toronto Blue Jays.
Granderson, 37, is hitting .230 for Toronto with 9 homers, 29 RBIs and a .337 on base percentage.
The Phils are looking to add a piece to their bench with the demotion Sunday night of outfielder Aaron Altherr.
If Philly doesn’t land Granderson, other possibilities include Mets’ Asdrubal Cabrera, Marlins’ Derek Dietrich and Twins’ Eduardo Escobar, per Rosenthal.
Look for the Phillies to be aggressive at the trade deadline, and not just for a bench piece.
