Phillies manager Gabe Kapler announced today when ace Jake Arrieta will make his regular season debut for the Phillies.
This is something Phillies fans have been anticipating since the club announced they signed the former Cy Young award winner to a 3-year, $75 million deal earlier this month.
Luckily for Phillies fans, Arrieta will make his debut in red pinstripes at home on April 8th against the Miami Marlins during the teams first regular season home stand.
April 8th is the first Sunday afternoon game of the season with first pitch being slated for 1:35pm.
As Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philly pointed out, Jake Arrieta has a career 3.28 ERA during day games.
Arrieta has started 4 games against Miami in his career going 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA.
