Mike Groh Promoted To Eagles Offensive Coordinator

The Eagles have been searching for a new offensive coordinator since Frank Reich became the Colts head coach on February 11th. Doug Peterson announced he would be searching for the new OC internally, and immediately announced WR Coach Mike Groh and RB Coach Duce Staley were the top candidates.

Today Doug officially announced that Mike Groh, who will be going into his second season with the Eagles, would be the one promoted to Offensive Coordinator. Many people will be shocked the Eagles did not promote Staley instead, considering he’s been on the staff since 2011. Since Doug calls the plays this is a largely ceremonial job, but Groh did a great job as WR coach this past season, see Nelson Agholor for example, and it will be interesting to see how he does in this new role.
